A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO GOUT
When the amount of uric acid in the blood is too high, uric acid
crystals can form and can accumulate in the joints, usually in the
feet or toes. Sometimes it can affect other joints, such as the
ankles or knees. The medical establishment considers gout as a form
of inflammatory arthritis because it can cause inflammation,
swelling and pain, like other forms of arthritis does.
If you have been diagnosed with gout, them if you want to get
better, you must make changes to your diet.
In the World Wide Web (internet) you may find a lot of diet changes
recommended for persons with gout.
I included some informative links in the References section bellow.
Here is my VERY BRIEF list of recommendations:
DO NOT DRINK ANY THING WITH ALCOHOL IN IT.
DO NOT EAT RED MEAT (or meat from any mammal).
DO NOT EAT ORGAN MEATS.
DO NOT DRINK SODAS WITH HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP.
DRINK PLENTY OF GOOD WATER
DRINK SOME TAR CHEERY JUICE
Your doctor will probably suggest some medicine to reduce blood uric
acid, if it is too high.
And he (or she) will probably make diet change recommendations.
Gout is regarded by some in the medical field as one of the
inflammatory arthritis.
