In England and in some US Universities, they have
been training dogs to use their powerful and very sensitive smell
to identify the urine from patients that have bladder cancer or
prostate cancer. However, do not expect the FDA to approve it's
use in the Health Care Industry (Medical Industrial Complex).
Instead, the FDA (influenced by corporations) probably prefer
machines to do that. Therefore, machines are being developed to do
that. However, in my opinion, we should be using the dogs until
the machines are proven to be as good or better than the dogs.
Dogs can have a lot of empathy and affection for us humans, and us
humans also can have a lot of affection and empathy toward dogs.
So what better way to make some dogs useful and happy, than to let
them diagnose cancer, at an early stage, in a non intrusive way,
by smelling the urine of patients. We should lobby politicians so
that they influence the FDA to approve this.
