First, I believe that this had nothing to do with politics. And anyone trying to blame this on Democrats or Republicans is an idiot. This was probably financed by an enemy of the USA, and we seem to have plenty of those. And although it could have been an accident, there are too many suspicious occurrences.

PRIME SUSPECTS:

Any crew member, including the Captain, the navigator (if they had a navigator), and anyone with access to the ship's computer and/or it's electrical system.

SUSPICIOUS OCCURRENCES:

1. The Dali was NOT navigating near the center of the canal (middle of the bridge under-pass) like it is supposed to. Instead, it was navigating too far to the right, but not far enough to hit the protective pile (See image 1 bellow).

2. Once the Dali passed the protective pile, it made a sharp right turn, now heading strait for the supporting columns of the bridge. This sharp turn can NOT be caused by a lost of electrical power. Someone in the Dali had to make that sharp turn manually, or if the navigating was being done by software in a computer, then someone had to give the computer the command to make the sharp turn. If the navigating computer had access to the internet, then someone could have hacked the software in order to make the sharp right turn.

3. The lost of power, once the right turn was made, is also very suspicious, because it will not allow the captain or navigator to undo the right turn or reverse the engine thrust. Also, the lost of power stopped the "black box" recording, hiding what was going on.

4. The Dali's black box (it is actually orange, but they call it "black box") was not battery backed. A ship that large should have a backup generator that would automatically turn on, if the main power is lost. Or at least it should have a battery backed "black box".

5. Image 2 bellow shows how sharp a turn the Dali had to make in order to hit the bridge's supporting columns.

I also find it very strange that none of the news media mention the protective piles. In fact most websites and news media claimed that the bridge columns had no protection. In my humble opinion, the protective pile (if that is what they are, see image 3) are to far from the columns, allowing a ship to pass close to the piles, then make a sharp turn to hit the columns.

Some government agency (FBI or Home Land Security, with help from the CIA or NSA) should investigate this suspicious catastrophic collision. If the ship was navigating using software and GPS, then some software guru (perhaps from the NSA) should be given access to such software in order to investigate if the software was modified to cause the collision. They should "follow the money". In other words, investigate if the Captain or any crew member have received a large sum of money in the near past or will receive, in the next few week, a large sum of money.

FINAL NOTE:

In my opinion, TV journalist have done a poor job reporting this collision. Because they reported that the ship is registered in Singapore, but have not reported the nationality of the captain or any of the crew members. And they have NOT reported if the ship was controlled manually or via GPS software. And they have not mention what seems to be protective piles.
