MAMA-SANS
Mama-san was the name we used, for the adult females that
helped us, by doing our laundry, sweeping our barracks, etc.
They were paid for their work, but we were very thankful for
their help, and affectionately respect them.

This was the mama-san of our barracks. She was a widow. Her
husband was
killed while serving as a south vietnamese policeman.

They sometimes took breaks, of course.

And sometimes they brought family members.

The top of the bunkers were a preferred spot for sun bathers.
