MISCELLANEOUS VIETNAM PHOTOS

I did not have a telephoto lens, for the Nikon camera I had.
Therefore, I could not take good photos of any bombing action taking place near Longbinh.
As can be seem by this photo of napalm being dropped a few miles from Longbinh.

When battles were taking place a few miles from Longbinh, we could see large amounts of smoke in the horizon.

These are 5 Huey helicopters carrying troops to or from a battle field.

Sometimes low flying planes would spray our area. Sometimes spraying insecticide, to kill malaria infected mosquitoes.
And sometimes spraying Agent Orange, to kill vegetation. Probably they did not want lawns that had to be mowed frequently.

And here, under construction, is the largest above ground pool that I have ever seen.
I vaguely remember using it once or twice before leaving Vietnam.
However, after it was finished, any photos or slides, taken by me, while it was being used,
have been lost sometimes in the last 50 years.

To find out what was going on in other parts of the world, we would, sometimes, listen to short wave radios.
Or read a news paper.

Some guys would clown around in order to make us laugh.
Because laughter helped us stay mentally sane.
